“I have a Solution Jumper and absolutely love it.

I bought Ruby as a 5yr old having done very little. She is very sensitive in the back and will tell you if something is not right - typical mare! 

I once took her out into the school to jump in her previous jumping saddle and she flatly refused to canter; even trotting was causing her to grumble. I took her back to her stable and changed her immediately into a friend's Solution saddle whereupon she went beautifully and jumped her socks off!

This made up my mind to get a Solution saddle and we've never looked back. She is so comfortable in it and she's never complained since.

I am now saving up for a Solution dressage saddle! "

"Hot Vintage is a 6-year-old NZ TB that was “rescued” by his current owner, Tim Downes, from a racing stable in Hong Kong.

“Vince” had been retired from racing with respiratory problems. Since Tim brought him to the UK about 18 months ago I have been retraining him for eventing. Whilst still very green, he shows talent and scope and is working well in his Solution SMART™saddle.

Since breaking my leg a few months ago, Vince has been competing at dressage with one of Tim’s pupils, Leigh Spencer, winning their last dressage competition at Stafford show.

For his introduction to eventing, the ride has now been passed to Giovanni Mereu, 23, from Italy. Giovanni has been based at Ingestre with Tim in order to train towards his BHS exams since January 2011. He has recently sat and passed his Stage 4 and is now training towards the Intermediate Teaching exam.

The new partnership had their first competitive outing at Rodbaston Horse Trials recently, where we were all very pleased with the performance - more learning to come, but a very happy day! We are looking forward to more events with Giovanni as pilot until I am ready to compete again.

In the meantime, I am busy training clients and using my SMART™ saddle in lessons for them to try. I am particularly keen to try it on a horse that has been having some hind limb regularity problems as I think it will benefit from the Solution RigidFree™ system.

I also intend to lend the SMART™ to some of my professional eventing friends – one in particular has a very stiff moving 4* horse that I can’t wait to see in it!”

Nick has been involved with horses for some 25 years, including teaching and competing in the UK and overseas. His wife Kathy is by comparison, relatively “green” having only taken up riding seriously some 15 years ago.

Kathy and Nick have four horses between them, three of whom are descended from Kathy’s “first horse”. While Nick’s passion is eventing, Kathy tends to prefer to keep closer to the ground, preferring quiet hacking and dressage.

Kathy’s involvement with The Solution Saddles started, as is often the case, out of frustration from being unable to find a saddle to solve the problems that she was experiencing with one of her horses. Since changing to a Solution saddle, the difference in the horse in question was tremendous.

The changes in the other two horses, both of whom are now ridden in The Solution, have been a real “eye-opener”, since it was not previously considered that either had any saddle issues!

At two years old, the youngest is not quite ready to try The Solution yet, but Kathy and Nick are both looking forward to backing their first horse with a Solution saddle. They are sure that it will make the experience an easier one for them and a pleasant one for the horse, particularly since the horse in question is looking like he will make nearly 17.2 hands.
